LeMieux
Est. 2006"Inspired by Equestrians"
Brand Story
LeMieux was founded in 2006 by former Olympic event rider Robert LeMieux and his wife Lisa. Their journey began earlier in 1999 with Lisa's delivery service, 'Horse Health,' selling supplements from a van. Robert's passion for high-quality equipment stemmed from a catastrophic injury that ended his Olympic eventing career in 1984, driving him to create safer and better products that he himself would have wanted as a competitor.
The brand officially launched in 2006 with its own range of saddle pads, quickly gaining recognition for innovation and quality. LeMieux expanded globally with its first trade exports in 2009 and introduced its now-iconic 'matchy-matchy' colour story in 2011. Key milestones include partnering with Dover Saddlery in the US in 2016, and in 2024 becoming an official supplier to seven national Olympic teams for the Paris Games.
Where They Sit in the Market
LeMieux is positioned as a premium equestrian lifestyle brand known for its quality, innovation, and bold colour palette. It targets passionate equestrians who seek high-performance, technically designed equipment and fashionable rider wear. The brand's 'designed by riders, for riders' philosophy resonates strongly with both amateur and professional competitors, placing it in the premium segment at an accessible price point.
LeMieux is world-renowned for its 'matchy-matchy' colour story, which began in 2011, allowing riders to coordinate their horse's equipment and their own attire across a vast palette of colours. This single concept essentially created a new trend category in equestrian fashion that every other brand has since followed.
